Pastor’s Corner: “What are You Preparing For?”
Covid or no Covid Death is a certainty! It’s not- maybe for some and not for others… Are you prepared?
Roman’s 6:23 says- For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.
Don’t wait till after you have died to say, well I think I will… That’s not a good plan. Your parent’s, your cousins nor your friend’s faith will be able to bail you out; this is on you! You don’t wait till your soul leaves your body to put serious thought to this… That’s terrible planning.
Why haven’t you planned for this when there’s something you can do?
Jesus wants to give you something. It’s not something you can give yourself, nor can anyone else give it to you. And, It’s free… a free gift. It’s your Salvation for the rest of Eternity. Why wouldn’t you take it? What is holding you back? There is a choice that you need to make. (And not making one, may give you an outcome you were not expecting.)
We don’t have to guess what comes next because it’s in the Bible. And it’s Clear! He wants us to know. He wants us with Him. He says, this is how you prepare- You can be with me for all Eternity or you can turn your back on me for all Eternity, which is a very different place. One is Heaven and one is Hell. NO ONE has to go there if they don’t want to, but the choice is yours, yet the decision does need to be made. Now. Today. Not later, when it will be too late after you’re gone.
The Lord reminds us in James 4:14 “Why, you don’t even know what will happen tomorrow.”
And in Romans 3:23 “All have sinned and fallen short of the Glory of God.
You need forgiveness, you need a Savior, and there is only one- Jesus Christ our Lord. God himself made away. It doesn’t matter how “good” you are, how “smart” you are- you need the covering of Christ. And there is nothing you have done that’s “too bad” that God’s Grace and Love can’t cover.
Jesus says in John 14:6 – “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes unto the Father except through me. He is the Only Way… Why wouldn’t anyone take advantage of something that was done for you? It’s free. It’s a gift! Not a small insignificant one at that…. A gift that doesn’t hinge on you doing something right, your performance. You don’t have to have it all together first before accepting him into your life. Thank you Lord for your son and we do want to be well prepared!
Psalms 130:3 LORD, if you kept a record of our sins, who, O Lord, could ever survive?
John 3:16 16For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Acts 4:12 12Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.”
Ephesians 2:8-9 8For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God- 9not by works, so that no one can boast.
Thank you Lord, for wanting to give us so much more! More than just life here on Earth. You want to give us Eternal life with you. You have made a way for us still. You have forgiven us through your son’s broken body, so we may have a life through Jesus Christ in Eternity!
In loving memory of my son Isaiah. So thankful you were Prepared! Can’t wait to see you again! Love Mom.
In His Grace,
